Harties Red Bears Swimming Club

Harties Red Bears Swimming Club Swimming club based in Hartbeespoortdam, North West Province. Senior coach is Garth Tune, a South African National swimming gold medalist.

Swimmers train at an indoor heated facility in town. Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Masters swimmers are coached. Garth Tune has been coaching for 15 years and is assisted by Marialda Metz . In addition, learn-to-swim (LTS) classes for ages 6 months and up are facilitated by Marialda Metz, a qualified LTS and baby swim instructor with 15 years' teaching experience.

🏊‍♂️ Did You Know? Swimming may help protect one of the most overlooked structures in your entire cardiovascular system.

Most people think swimming only strengthens the heart.

But your blood vessels have something even more fascinating…

A microscopic, gel-like protective layer called the endothelial glycocalyx.

You can’t see it.

Yet it lines the inside of every healthy blood vessel.

Its job is to:
