Featuring Ella Corrigan- Because it’s her birthday 🎈

Today we had the privilege of catching up with Ella Corrigan as part of our Road to Nationals campaign and celebrating Warrior Women On Wheels

We spoke about Women’s Month, her journey in cycling, life as part of Team ASAP, the team’s most recent race, and what lies ahead for the rest of the season.

Ella continues to inspire through her dedication, discipline, and passion for the sport. As one of South Africa’s talented young cyclists, she represents the exciting future of women’s cycling, and we look forward to following her journey in the months ahead.

We also walked through the ROUTES OF South African National Championships- explained from an organising perspective.

And, because today is extra special, we couldn’t end the interview without celebrating her birthday tomorrow! 🎉 Happy Birthday, Ella! We wish you a fantastic year filled with good health, unforgettable racing, and many podium moments.

Thank you, Ella, for sharing your story with us. We can’t wait to see you on the start line.

Athlete Spotlight | Madison Bateson 🇿🇦🚵‍♀️🚴‍♀️

Already a seven-time South African National Champion, Madison has claimed four South African Road Championship titles and three South African Mountain Bike Championship titles. She is also the current South African Junior Short Track (XCC) Champion, continuing to establish herself as one of South Africa’s brightest young cycling talents.

While every title holds a special place, her first Junior South African Road Championship remains her proudest achievement after overcoming a challenging final Youth season.

Recently, Madison fulfilled a lifelong dream by competing in her first UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Europe. Racing against the world’s best confirmed exactly where she wants to be, and she now has her sights firmly set on becoming a professional athlete on the UCI World Cup circuit.

Behind every successful athlete is an incredible team. Madison credits her parents, coaches and sponsors for the sacrifices, guidance and unwavering support that have allowed her to pursue her dreams while balancing her education through online schooling.

What makes Madison even more inspiring is her desire to give back. She hopes to become a humble role model for the next generation, proving that success is built through hard work, dedication, kindness and perseverance.

The future of South African cycling is in very good hands.

Congratulations, Madison, we can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next! 👏🇿🇦

✨ Tegan Phillips ✨ | chase adventure. 🚴‍♀️

For Tegan Phillips, the bicycle has become a passport to the world. From cycling across Africa with her family to discovering hidden gems like Montenegro, her adventures have been shaped by curiosity rather than competition. She believes the beauty of travelling by bike lies in experiencing countries, cultures, landscapes and people at a human pace, taking the time to appreciate the journey instead of rushing to the destination.

Like many women who travel, Tegan has faced challenges along the way. Her greatest lesson has been learning to trust herself, set firm boundaries, and always prioritise her safety. It is a reminder that courage isn’t the absence of fear, but the confidence to keep moving forward.

If you’ve ever smiled at one of Tegan’s comic cycling photos, you’ll know that humour is at the heart of everything she does. She believes the best adventures become the best stories, and that laughter can transform even the toughest moments into lifelong memories. For her, having fun will always matter more than winning.

Perhaps the most inspiring part of Tegan’s story is her reminder that cycling doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. You don’t have to race to call yourself a cyclist. Whether you ride alone or with friends, sleep under the stars or in a hotel, push your limits or stop for six coffees along the way, there is no right or wrong way to explore the world on two wheels.

Her journey is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the bicycle isn’t about getting somewhere faster, it’s about seeing more, feeling more, and living more.
