OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The Hammanskraal Arts and Sports Awards (HASA) Organising Committee would like to sincerely apologise for the postponement of the 2nd Annual HASA Awards Ceremony.

Following extensive internal consultations and ongoing stakeholder engagement, we have taken the decision to postpone the ceremony to ensure that it is delivered at the standard our community deserves. This decision was not taken lightly, but it is necessary to ensure that we properly recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our artists, sports personalities, cultural practitioners, and community leaders across Hammanskraal.

Our commitment remains unchanged: to host a memorable, dignified, and world-class awards ceremony that truly honours the individuals who continue to make a positive impact in our community.

We appreciate that many of you were looking forward to the event, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this postponement may have caused. We are currently finalising the new arrangements, and as soon as the date, time, and venue have been confirmed, they will be communicated through our official platforms.

We thank all our nominees, partners, sponsors, stakeholders, and the community for your patience, understanding, and continued support. Your encouragement motivates us to deliver an awards ceremony worthy of the incredible talent and dedication found in Hammanskraal.

Together, we will celebrate excellence the way it deserves to be celebrated.

Tomorrow we, Sekanka Foundation, will be visiting Hosea Secondary School to donate school shoes and provide monetary support as part of our mission to uplift and support learners in our communities. We believe that every child deserves to walk into school with confidence, dignity, and hope for a brighter future. Through acts of kindness and unity, we continue to invest in education and stand with families and schools in making a difference. This is more than just giving, it is about changing lives, inspiring dreams, and building a stronger tomorrow for our children. Sekanka Foundation making wonders. 👞📚✨

It is with great sadness that we have learned about the passing of our Father, Mentor, and one of Hammanskraal’s greatest legends, Mr Frans Mabunda.

Hammanskraal has truly lost a giant in Art and Culture. His leadership, wisdom, and dedication to community development will never be forgotten. He was a guiding force and a father figure to many of us.

We extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Mabunda family during this difficult time.

HASA Awards would like to formally announce the postponement of the HASA Awards Ceremony, originally scheduled for 4 January 2026, to a new date of 8 March 2026.

This strategic postponement is aimed at strengthening event delivery, enhancing nominee experience, and ensuring a world-class awards ceremony that fully celebrates excellence in arts, culture, heritage, and community development.

In the spirit of celebration and appreciation, HASA Awards is pleased to announce that a Nominees Party and Official Trophy Launch will still take place as planned on:

This special event will form part of the One Last Dance Diturupas Carnival, bringing together culture, heritage, and recognition under one platform.
