Madume baagi ba Greater Taung ka bophara. As the Taung Sports club we recently reflected on our core pillars and principles Having collaboration and inclusivity as our priorities. As a club that truly belongs to the people of Taung and surrounding areas, we are once again opening our doors to our greatest stakeholders which is you, our community.

We are on a mission to grow and we’re inviting passionate individuals to join our team. We’re searching for:
- Netball coaches
- Rugby coaches
- Fitness coaches
- Chess coaches

We’re not looking for perfection. What we seek are people with passion, willingness to learn and the drive to grow alongside the club. Whether you’re a senior player or an aspiring coach, this is your chance to step forward.

🚨 ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

As a sports club founded on the core of collaboration ,transparency and accountability, we pride ourselves on transparent and accountable leadership, driven by a vision to break barriers and set new standards of impact. On the 28th of March 2026, we successfully hosted the She Matters Netball Event in collaboration with North West University. True to our commitment, the team affiliation for the day was sanitary towels, pledged to be donated to schools within our community.

Today, our Chairperson and Founder, Kitso Kgaoganyeng, on behalf of the Club, fulfilled that promise by donating the accumulated sanitary towels to three identified beneficiaries:

- Ph Moeketsi Agricultural High School
- Goitseone Mankuroane Primary School
- Marope Primary School

With the little we had, we ensured each school received support, because we believe even small steps create lasting change. This initiative was made possible by every club, every individual and every supporter who stood with us. We are because of one another.

Our doors remain open for collaboration, partnership and support in any form. Together, we can continue to drive meaningful change, inspire communities and prove that sports is not only about competition, but also about compassion and responsibility.

The Taung Sports Club was established with the mission of empowering the youth and broader community of Taung, North West, through the transformative power of sport.

Founded on the principle that academic pursuits require balance and innate talent deserves cultivation. The club provides progressive environments where young individuals can flourish intellectually, physically, and spiritually. Our core values encompass substance-free living, talent development , community empowerment and accountabe leadership.

The Taung Sports Club transcends its role as a sports organization, functioning as a movement dedicated to transforming lives, building resilience, and creating opportunities in underserved areas.

We're thrilled to share the success of our " She Matters" event! Despite the challenging weather, our netball day paired with a sanitary towel drive was a huge success.

A massive thank you to everyone who participated, donated and supported this cause. Together, we made a difference and we can achieve more together! A special thank you to our collaborator, the North West University 💜

Event Highlights:
- Stream B Winner: Warrenton Netball Club (0/17)
- Stream A (Open Age) Winner: Warrenton Netball Club
We also had a friendly fun match including all Coaches ,organizers and stuff members.

The donated sanitary towels will go to a local school in need, following thorough assessment and evaluation.

All teams are invited and required to confirm their participation and affiliation by this date.

Giving back
As part of our donation drive, we kindly encourage all spectators to bring along sanitary towels to support the initiative of " SHE MATTERS! ". Your contribution will go a long way in supporting and empowering young women in our community.

🚨 SHE MATTERS 🚨

Your skills can shine, their dignity can rise. Join the Netball Clinic + Friendly Games hosted by the Taung Sports Club in collaboration with North West University Mafikeng Campus. Every pass you make helps put sanitary towels in the hands of girls who need them.

We’re inviting all local netball teams from high schools to open age, and yes, even male netball teams to spend the day with us at Goitseone Mankuroane Primary School on the 28th of March 2026. Join us as the NWU will lead a netball clinic and skills development session to empower the girl child & those with passion, followed by friendly matches.

Remember: team affiliation = Sanitary towels.

Can’t pitch but want your voice heard? You can still be part of the legacy reach out in kind support by donating whatever you may have to make the day a success.
