🦒 World Giraffe Day 🦒
The tallest animal on earth, and still somehow one of the easiest to overlook.
Perhaps because they move so quietly for something so large. Perhaps because we’ve seen enough photographs that we forget what it actually feels like to be near one… the scale of it, the strange grace of it, the way they make the landscape look like a different planet entirely.
Did you know that some species of Giraffe are listed as vulnerable? Their numbers have dropped by nearly 40% in the last three decades, a decline so gradual it has been called a silent extinction.
So grateful to experience these creatures on our home turf, both from the ground and from horse back 🐎
