Are your goals S.M.A.R.T.?
S - Specific.
In fitness, there is something that is known as the principle of specificity. It is the idea that you achieve your goals, by doing them.
For example, if you want to improve your squat strength, you need to squat.
M - Measurable.
Being able to track your progress is a great way to increase and keep up your level of motivation.
A - Attainable.
Sticking with the idea of motivation, it is important to set attainable goals.
If you set unattainable goals, you are less likely to achieve them, which could lead to lowered motivation.
R - Relevant.
How you work towards your goal needs to be relevant to your goal.
T - Time-Bound.
Having a certain timeframe in which you want to achieve your goals goes hand in hand with your goal being measurable.
It also gives you a deadline to work towards, rather than working aimlessly towards your goal.
