CHIMANGO KAYIRA FOUNDATION/BERRY’S SPORTS CORNER MAKES A K3.5 MILLION DONATION TO SALIMA L.E.A RESOURCE CENTRE FOR THE BLIND

On Saturday, 10th October 2026, Chimango Kayira Foundation/Berry’s Sports Corner held a colourful and successful third outreach at Salima L.E.A Resource Centre for the Blind, donating assorted items worth K3.5 million to support learners at the institution.

The outreach was a remarkable moment of love, compassion and solidarity, as the Foundation demonstrated its commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and making a positive difference in people's lives.

Speaking during the event, the school's management chairperson, Reverend Grace Kadyelera, described the donation as timely, highlighting the challenges faced by many learners who come from struggling families and lack essential supplies. She also called upon other stakeholders to emulate the Foundation's gesture and continue supporting the learners.

Meanwhile, Chimango Kayira Foundation/Berry’s Sports Corner President, Chimango Kayira, said the donation followed the organisation's observation that the learners needed the items. He emphasised that the initiative forms part of the Foundation's ongoing efforts to mobilise resources and extend a helping hand to vulnerable people in society.

The outreach was more than just a donation; it was a powerful expression of kindness, unity and the belief that everyone deserves care, dignity and an opportunity to thrive.
