Just got this picture from someone - most feel this way today, yes its bitterly cold and wet. Bet it traveled far and wide by now. If only nature was as easy as AI (Personaly i hope it does not take over over natural photography, especially nature photography but still fun with comon sense and used wisely and honest at the right time and right reason. Massive Veldfire behind Churchill Water reservoir Primrose Germiston. How ironic. Veld fires is no strage thing and very common. What makes it worse? Fire right by reservoir not providing water. Little to no water in or from reservoir to a large area. High, slight hilly area and little to no maintenance of grass and open areas near the reservoir. Who is to blame (Rand Water or Ekurhuleni? ? ?), Add to that, many in area no power for several days. The cold and homeless add on. Now how is residents expected to live and protect their property

Kokoriba 1 – 2000

Kokoriba Game Reserve is a popular, family-friendly Bushveld destination in the North West Province, situated near Beestekraal—just 38 km from Brits, 54 km from Rustenburg, and approximately 120 km from Pretoria. Kokoriba offers a peaceful getaway featuring self-catering chalets, over 100 caravan sites, and swimming pools.

Activities and Amenities: The Bushveld setting is home to more than 300 bird species, making it ideal for leisurely game viewing and birdwatching within the small private game reserve. Kokoriba offers game drives, mini-golf, a children's playground, hiking trails, a restaurant, and an on-site shop for basic necessities (such as firewood, ice, treats for children and adults, and even small toys), as well as neat ablution facilities and regular holiday entertainment programs and many more.

Aktiwiteite en Geriewe: Die Bosveld uisves meer as 300 voëlspesies. Iidiaal vir maklike wildkyk en voëlkyk in die klein privaaat wiltuin. Kokoriba bied wildritte, putt-putt, 'n speelpark vir kinders, staproetes,'n Restaurant 'n winkeltjie op die perseel vir basiese benodigdhede (soos hout en ys, soetggoed vir kinders en volwassenes en selfs klein speelgoed), en netjiese ablusieblokke en bgereelde vakansie vermaak programme en meer.

Die oord was uiters gewild en het natuurlik voortdurend verander en verbeter met meer geriewe en fasaliteite sederd die spesifieke fotos en tyd. 🎣

Blyde Dam around Dam Wall and Visitor Centre 1

The visitor centre located in the reserve houses a information center and various displays

If you are lucky you can spot some hippo and crocodiles in the dam and on the banks.

You can take some time on some of the hiking trails.
