To all our members,
Since our AGM at the start of the year, there have been quite a few changes that we would like to bring to your attention as well as some exciting news for the future of George Chess Club.
Unfortunately, last month our Chairman, Lionel Campbell, and Secretary, Idalette Campbell, resigned from their respective positions at the Club, but will still remain members. We are so grateful for their input, support and the sacrifices they have made over the past years so as to ensure the success of our Club.
As a Committee, we held a Special Meeting so as to hold a vote to fill these positions. We would therefore like to congratulate and introduce our new Chairman Jayson Van Zyl, and our new Secretary Elizane Marner.
The whole committee is very excited for the future of the club and have many new ideas and exciting events planned.
So watch this space!! We are currently looking at dates for some upcoming training for all to enjoy, so let us know what you would most like some further information on: Various opening’s, End game, Tactics. Let us know so we can help you improve your knowledge of the beautiful game we call chess!
