To our arbiters, organizers, and players — we truly appreciate the time, effort, and passion you invested in making this event such a success. Special thanks to Conville Primary for opening your doors, supporting our initiative, and helping us invest in the leaders of tomorrow. Your contribution means the world to us.

𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻, “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁,” 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝟳𝟰 ♟️🕊️

The chess world mourns the passing of 𝗝𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻, widely regarded as “the best of the West” during the era dominated by Soviet champions.

A former World Championship challenger and elite grandmaster for decades, Timman was known for his creative, fighting style and deep understanding of the game. Beyond the board, he also made lasting contributions as a respected chess author and thinker.

His legacy lives on through his games, books, and the generations of players he inspired.

A big thank you to Conville Primary for making their facilities available to Conville Knights Chess Club and for giving every beginner the opportunity to grow and develop their chess skills. 🙏

In a stunning display of skill and determination, Conville Knights Chess Club has achieved an unprecedented double crown in the chess community. The rural George-based club emerged victorious in the prestigious Quadrangular Chess Tournament, adding to their existing 1st Division Eden Chess League title.

Conville Knights edged out strong competitors George U-Knighted by a single point (40.5-39.5) to claim the championship.

The club demonstrated consistent excellence throughout the year, earning them the title through hard work.
Conville Knights' historic double crown is a testament to their dedication, strategy, and passion for chess. As they continue to make waves in the chess community, fans eagerly anticipate their future endeavors.
