Congratulations to Cornel Metcalfe on winning the Welkom Prayer run 2026 in the 100 miler.
Welkom PrayerRun 2026 - an amazing event drew to the close.

1) New SA 24hour record - Tegan Edwards rewriting history books emphatically in scorching heat to run 209km

2) Cornel Metcalfe yet again taking the all out win on the 100miler. In the 4 official PrayerRuns (of which the others were held on the South Coast), Cornell has won them all.

Congratulations to both these two amazing athletes, you really brought the heat to an already hot Welkom🔥😀👏👊❤️💪

What a great turnout of our athletes at Lets Go Potch on all disaplines, 42, 21, and 10km. Congratulations to each and every athlete. It was a very hot day and the early start really helped. Thank you to the organizers for a well run event.

Our athletes and cyclists have been preforming at the various races these past weeks. Gaan Wild Mountain bike /trail race at Lekwena Wildlife Estate. Parys street mile and Bert's Brick Night race to name a few. It is so good to see our athletes in there stand out colors of Fanatics Racing Club, participating in all these events, keeping our name and club high. Well done to each and every one. Keep up the good work. Hope to see a big turnout at the Go Potch on Saturday 17th October. Let's keep splashing our colors all over the place.

Our Athletes and cyclists have been out and about these last few weeks, taking on new and unusual races, training hard for various races and generally enjoying the warmer weather. Congratulations to each and everyone who completed their goals.

We had a great turnout of athletes at the 8th Rand Water Vaal River City Marathon that took place on Sunday 13 September 2026 over all the different categories. Congratulations to all the athletes, whether, it was a PB, just finishing the race, or qualifying for the Comrades. You are all super stars. Also to Ian du Plessis for completing the grueling 50km Mont-Aux Sources trail run. Well done. Running is about proving to yourself that you can push your limits and grow stronger with everything step.

Our athletes have been very busy over the last couple of weeks. Congratulations to Cornel Metcalfe for completing the grueling 171km flagship race UTMB Mont-Blanc in 45 hours, 14 minutes. Overall position 1,616th. Gender position 254th. Category position (W50) 32th. By conquering the 10,000 meters of elevation gain around Mont-Blanc massif, she successfully added yet another massive achievement to her career as one of South Africa's most decorated 100 mile ultra runner. Well done Cornel.
Onto the SA Cross country championship held at Curro Hazeldean on Saturday, we had three athletes competing. Claudeen Nortjè and Annette Shanahan competed in the 35+ category, coming in 9th and 19 respectively and also being part of the North West team to take 3rd place in the teams competition. Charmaine Wright competing in the 70+ category coming in the 6th position. Congratulations to all our athletes.

After Comrades shanigans. Most of our athletes out and about, training to stay fit and looking out for the next challenge. We celebrated Conrad Freese birthday with a lovely 12km run followed by wor rolls and cake.
