FXB CHERRY CUP BLOEMFONTEIN PLAYERS ASSESMENT TRIP

Date: 18 - 19 July 2026

Cherry Cup successfully concluded its latest weekend developmental program, marking another major milestone in its ongoing mission to nurture grassroots football talent.

The weekend player assessment games which took place at Bloemfontein Rambles Club Sports facilities, brought together over 100 young athletes aged 15 to 19 From North West, Bloemfontein Soccer academy and Setsoto Municipality Squad players for intensive technical assessment, and competitive Matches in front of Proffesional coaches.

The primary objectives of these Assessments games includes:

- Talent Identification: Discovering hidden gems and raw talent that might not be visible in local, recreational leagues.

- Skill Assessment: Testing core fundamentals such as dribbling under pressure, passing accuracy, speed, and overall match fitness.

- Character Evaluation: Observing how players handle pressure, communicate with teammates, react to mistakes, and fit into team dynamics.

- Career Progression: Providing a direct pathway to professional club trials, Development Challenge (DDC) teams, ABC Motsepe teams, Soccer Academy’s or scholarship programs

Our goal is to build the players of tomorrow," said by Mr Lebohang Kali Cherry Cup Pty Ltd Director. "This weekend, we were focused at enhancing players technical proficiency and experience, which are critical for the players as they transition from the discovery phase into the performance phase.

SETSOTO MUNICIPALITY SQUAD PLAYERS ASSESMENT FEEDBACK:
Out of 22 players from Setsoto Municipality:
- 7 selected Players will go back in few weeks for final assessments (Under 17/19)
- 14 Players will Attend another assessments soon in different areas. NB: Profiles Submited (Under 17/19)
- Player Profiles/CV for 22 Players who attended the assessment and other assessment games for Setsoto Squad

A special, heartfelt thank you to our esteemed guest coach Kagisho Dikgacoi 🙏🏼 🙏🏼. Thank you for taking the time to share your wealth of knowledge, tactical insights, and on-field drills. You did not just teach us the X's and O's of soccer; you equipped us with the leadership and motivational skills needed to mentor our players effectively.

Thank you to every player who attended our assessment trials & Clinics. Your dedication, discipline, and raw talent on the pitch were truly inspiring. Our technical team is currently reviewing performances, and selected players will be contacted shortly via official channels.

: Out of more than 90 Players, 5 Ready for PRO trials and 23 Qualified for another assessment trials. Thank you so much for putting the effort and giving it your all at trials.
