As we continue to reflect on the tremendous success of the inaugural Phantane Durban Street Mile, we are filled with gratitude and pride. What began as a vision has become a memorable celebration of athletics, made possible by the unwavering support of countless individuals and organisations who believed in our dream.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our principal partner, Lucky Fish, whose commitment, support, and belief in this event helped elevate it to a world-class standard. Your contribution played a significant role in shaping an unforgettable experience for athletes and spectators alike.
Our heartfelt thanks go to uMngeni-uThukela Water and eThekwini Municipality for their valuable support and partnership in making this event a reality.
We thank the Ntenga Foundation, Hollywood Athletics Club, Durban University of Technology and BONAKUDE for their incredible enthusiasm, community spirit, and for hosting exceptional water tables that kept our athletes motivated and refreshed throughout the day. Our gratitude extends to Milo for their support and contribution to the event.
Most importantly, we thank every athlete who entered and participated in our very first edition. Your trust in us was humbling. The response exceeded all expectations, with 1789 entries, demonstrating the excitement and appetite for a race of this nature. Your energy, passion, and competitive spirit brought the streets to life and created an atmosphere that will remain in our memories for years to come.
To the coaches, club managers, athletics clubs, schools, volunteers, officials, technical teams, medical personnel, service providers,
media partners, spectators, community members, and every individual who contributed in ways both big and small, thank you. Your support, dedication, and belief in the event were instrumental in its success. If we have not mentioned you by name, please know that your contribution is deeply valued and sincerely appreciated.
Congratulations to all participants, and special congratulations to our winners and podium finishers for their outstanding performances. You have helped establish a new and exciting chapter in South African road running and street racing.
The overwhelming support we received has inspired us to work even harder as we begin preparations for the 2027 edition. We are committed to raising the bar, enhancing the athlete experience, and delivering an even bigger, better, and more electrifying Phantane Durban Street Mile.
