Durban North’s very own legend, Fines Master, distributor of cold beers, and won’t stop his watch for toilet pit stop (oops!)

He’s the reason our seconders are smiling, our athletes are celebrating, and nobody can quite remember the second half of the post-race jol. If your aches and pains mysteriously disappeared on Comrades Sunday, chances are the Big Dog had something to do with it.

Part support crew, part social coordinator, part memory eraser — a true Faku Chiefs institution. 🍻🏃‍♂️

Before we start sharing the war stories, glamorous photies, and action shots that may or may not be used as evidence at our fines evening… a massive shout-out to this Faku Chiefs power couple! 👏🍻

Thank you to Gilbert Maujean and Lorryn Maujean for setting up camp at the crack of dawn while most of us were still negotiating with our alarms. Armed with ice-cold water, beers, drinks, hydration, encouragement, and the patience of saints, they were ready to shepherd us up that final hill.

From the first Chief charging through to the last Chief stubbornly crossing the line, these two were there cheering, refilling bottles, handing out cold drinks, and providing the kind of support that deserves its own medal.

The legs got us to the finish, but the cold beers and friendly faces certainly helped. 🍺🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Thank you for being the ultimate support crew and proving that every great race needs an even greater pit crew! 💪🏼❤️🖤🤍

At the heart of Faku Chiefs is the belief that life — and running — is about giving back more than we take. Whether it’s supporting charities, cheering fellow runners on from the sidelines, or simply showing up for one another, our Chiefs know how to leave a positive footprint (usually in slightly sweaty running shoes).

We believe in lifting people up, creating a community built on encouragement, good gees, and support for every runner and friend — member or not.

And while we may spend plenty of time chasing medals, PBs, and finish lines, we’re equally passionate about contributing to something bigger than ourselves. Because at Faku Chiefs, being part of the club means being part of the community too. .snake .matt
