United We Stand UWS is a team competition with teams from across Africa and South Africa CrossFit affiliates able to

United We Stand (UWS) is a 3 day team event that takes place every October in the great surroundings of Durban.

2017 will be the 7th annual competition that now sees in excess of 950 athletes descend on Durban to crown the fittest team in Africa. Originally in 2011 only teams from South Africa competed but with the growth of CrossFit globally we now see teams from Namibia and Zimbabwe join the we

ekend. UWS is an affiliate only event that was started for the community by the community. Our values are centered around giving the athletes a weekend that is purely about them. From the set up, on time running schedule, medical practitioners, vendor village and workouts themselves,everything is geared towards creating the best environment for the competitors and travelling spectators. We look foward to many more years of providing a top class event for the CrossFit community

Wassup everybody.

Please share this if you know people that might be keen.

The memories have been popping up everywhere, and in and amongst the epic posts we've seen a few comments about running UWS again.

We know that covid is messing things up for everyone but, if we run UWS again next year, WOULD YOU COME?

Give us a YES in the comments if so.

We are thinking of continuing with October as the open has shifted back to February and October is UWS month.

Let us know people.

If we can, we will.

Afternoon my African friends.

On behalf of UWS and all involved, I just wanted to send out some love to all of the gym owners and businesses involved around the fitness industry in South Africa.

Some decided to hang up their boots, some had no option. Everyone felt the heat but believe me, you'll thrive and have stronger communities because of this.

We've seen it in the UK already and I look forward to watching from afar as you all build your business back up again.

Well done to all of you and much love and respect from us.

I may not be in South Africa any longer but my heart never left.

It is with a heavy heart we say good bye to Ashley today.

Ashley was the owner of Wandering Bean who were a permanent fixture at our event from the time we moved to Old Mutual sports arena.

He was a great guy and was the forward thinker to take sole rights at our event. Arguably showing the way for others to think about events.

He sadly passed away last week and is being laid to rest today.

Go well fella and thoughts are with the family and the huge collection of friends you have.
