Good Sunday afternoon, MyGibaRunners 🙏. It was GREAT to be back at Giba Gorge MTB Park this morning.🥳 Unfortunately, with another small turnout (13), my babe Rose and I still had to “earn our keep”, so, with both a BMX & Downhill event at Giba this morning, we snapped-away at loads of cyclists, both on the trails and in the start/finish area.🚵‍♀️🚵‍♂️🚵

We hope the cyclists enjoy the photos when Giba shares the album on their page.🙏

Rose also captured an interesting photo of the Giba fire hut - it looks like someone has started painting it with a fresh coat of white paint - but not finished yet. I did notice that it appeared to be brighter in the sunlight today than usual, and the photo proves this to be correct.👍

If our numbers continue to shrink, we might just have to focus on the 2-wheelers in time to come - and my favourite Giba shirt will definitely be appropriate attire 😇😜📸.

Thanks to everyone who helped make our return such a pleasant one - and, may I take this opportunity to remind everyone that the monthly Giba Night Run is on for this coming Wednesday, 2nd September at 18:00 (6pm). Carrying a light is mandatory folks, and also a matter of personal safety, so please bring one along (a cellphone light is definitely NOT good enough - it probably won’t last the distance, and it’s also usually not powerful enough).😇

Tomorrow’s MyGibaRun #141 will be the last event of Winter, although the weather suggests that Spring has already sprung, but that’s global warming for you 🥵.

My babe Rose and I are hoping to be there - we’re badly in need of some updated photos for my posts 📸😜, so please try to boost our numbers so that we can produce another “album of memories”.🙏

Hey MyGibaRunners, just a quick, positive, weather update for tomorrow’s MyGibaRun #130. Notwithstanding the very strong winds we’ve been experiencing over past few hours, with more predicted for tonight, the forecast for Sunday morning is pretty good with clear skies, warm temperatures, and very light west-south-westerly winds.🥳

Hey MyGibaRunners, with only 5 participants at MyGibaRun #139 last Sunday, and no photos to show for it, I thought maybe a little deviation from the usual, in the form of an uplifting, lighthearted AI creation of me as a Tarot Card, might encourage a better turnout for MyGibaRun #140 on Sunday 23rd August.😇

At least we can see Spring is approaching - the weather forecast is looking good, folks.👍

Sadly, I cannot be at Giba on Sunday as I am still recovering and not allowed to drive again until 27th August.😢 My babe Rose and I are looking forward to our return to Giba Gorge MTB Park on Sunday 30th August.🥳

Hey MyGibaRunners - I heard from our host, that the River Route past the tuck shop opposite Gibaland is now open. So, we have an exciting new long route to offer.

You follow the relatively new purple route, that also uses our orange MyGibaRun signs, to the waterfall, and then return along the River Route. If someone will follow the route exactly as marked and can measure it with a smart watch, that would be appreciated. 🙏 If it’s shorter than we’d like, we should be able to tweak it. Our new 3Km route that runs through the Spooky House remains the same. 👍

As you can see from the weather screenshot, the skies should be clear over Giba Gorge MTB Park on Sunday morning, and, after the recent rains, you might be in luck if you visit the waterfall. 😇

On a personal note: I am the proud owner of a new Pacemaker and I was discharged and got home on Thursday afternoon🥳. Feeling great but after 1 1/2 days lying in the hospital bed without moving, my left hip is stiff and sore - but nothing that a few strolls up-&-down the passage won’t sort out. 😇

Unfortunately, I cannot drive a vehicle or exercise for 2 weeks, so we won’t be able to experience the new route for the next two events.😢 I will, however, still be posting the weekly updates. 👍

Happy International Women’s Day to all of the ladies - and a big thank you to Giba Gorge MTB Park for giving every lady who stopped off at the Restaurant a beautiful and apparently (according to my babe Rose 🌹) delicious cupcake 🧁.🙏

With only 15 participants at MyGibaRun #138 this morning - myself excluded (more on that a bit later), we took a real mish-mash of photos - with some cool cycle and monkey action included.🚵‍♀️🐒 With so few participants I haven’t created the usual photo album, so please feel free to tag yourselves and others whilst browsing through the 80 photos that I am posting here.🙏

My babe Rose and I enjoyed our last delicious brekkie with a cappuccino (for me) and a cold choccie drink (for Rose) for a while. I’m having a medical procedure later this week and will be out of action for a while - hopefully not very long, but we will be missing the action for at least a couple of weeks. In the meantime, young Abo will be on hand, as will Senzo, if you need any assistance during our MyGibaRun events. I should be able to post the weekly updates until our return.👍
