🚨New Entry Received🚨

Hot on the heels of our 12th L26 entry, Keyuren Maharaj has confirmed his admission, competing on SLFC Spindrift.

The Commodore of UKZN Yacht Club has had his hands full with the launch of his app but is taking a well-deserved break to escape and enjoy one of his beloved hobbies. ‘I love the feeling of freedom you get being offshore of Durban! It truly is a special experience.’

With his grassroots learning the ropes on Container World when he was a pupil at Glenwood High School, Keyuren will be leading a young team mostly from UKZN. Remarkably, this is Keyuren’s tenth MSC Week in succession, his seventh year as skipper and fourth leading SLFC.

‘I think I should get a shirt that says this is my tenth anniversary,’ Keyuren says with a smile. ‘My best moment on the water was in 2019 when we were stuck out at sea in a storm during MSC Week. I was just 16 and skippering a new crew in those over 40 knot winds and I can still remember the adrenaline rushing through my body. It was an experience like no other and incredible. I learnt a lot in those moments, life lessons for which I am grateful for!’

Currently, our entry list so far stands at:
ORC Nationals
Argo / Aquavit / Bellissima / CFM / Free Spirit / Gambit / Impi / MSC Donna Mia / Regardless / Spirit of Anna Wardley / TNT Racing / Wuku
L26 Champs
Blue Tango 2 / BNR / Cheetah / Container World / Element / Esmeralda / Go Dutch / iThemba / Lindiwe / PGMT / PYC Challenger / SLFC Spindrift / Velocity

🚨New Entry Received🚨

Our 12th L26 entry landed last night, we are delighted to have Praise Baras back, this time co-skippering PGMT.

Representing Sail Africa, Praise has competed in about six MSC Weeks over the years. Most recently he was helmng Flyer in the Tuzi Tekwini race that finished over the long weekend. Flyer sailed out of their boots, at one stage leading the ORC fleet until the wind died and switched to a south westerly.

Praise praised, ‘I am mentoring a fantastic talent for the future, Sbonga Sibiya. Sbonga crewed last year and will now step up to leading the team made up of newbies. It will be a fun week for all of us, I am sure.’

Currently, our entry list so far stands at:
