As Punishers, we are extremely disappointed by the cancellation of the Friendship Cup, especially after the tournament had already been postponed three times.
What is even more concerning is the lack of communication with the participating teams. On the day of the tournament, we received a message at around 00:h30 (midnight) informing us that the tournament had once again been postponed. This came with very little notice and left teams with many unanswered questions.
We tried several times to contact the Friendship Cup tournament committee and organizers for clarity. Unfortunately, our calls were not answered, and our messages were ignored. We were left in the dark, without a proper explanation or clear communication regarding how and why the tournament could be postponed on the very day it was scheduled to take place.
As Punishers, we decided to go to the tournament venue ourselves to seek clarity and understand the situation. What we encountered there was shocking and raised even more questions.
However, at this stage, we will not disclose what we discovered. We believe it is important to first give the Friendship Cup organizers an opportunity to provide a full and official explanation to all the affected teams.
This situation is extremely disappointing because behind every team are players, coaches, parents, supporters, transport arrangements, finances, preparation, and hours of hard work. Everyone deserves proper communication and respect.
Despite this disappointment, Young Punishers Football Club will not lose its spirit.
We will continue to work hard, put in more effort, motivate our players, and keep building towards a better future.
To our players: keep your heads up.
To our coaches: keep pushing.
To our parents and supporters: thank you for standing with us.
One tournament may be cancelled, but our dreams cannot be cancelled.
We continue to work. We continue to believe. We continue to rise.
