“Autism is so funny. While I visited my mom tonight, my son who is autistic was putting letters together. I took a picture because it looked familiar. When we got home, I looked for the book I saw it in. From memory, he put together the letters and they matched exactly. There is no way I could remember the order like he did. Autism can be hard, but the people are so special.” ❤️

As humans, we are very quick to judge and criticise ourselves, and very rarely do we compliment ourselves. I believe that if we teach children from a young age to tell themselves good things about themselves, that they will grow up being able to continue to compliment themselves.
I encourage my kids say these affirmations after every lesson, and soon they learn to say them themselves.

Hi everyone 🙂

Welcome to my page, and thank you so much for showing your support by following.
I have been extremally passionate about physical activity (phys ed) for children with special needs for a few years, and after working at a special needs school for a few years I came up with the idea of Little Heroes after seeing how much of a difference physical activity can make and how much the children loved feeling apart of something, playing together as a team.

I have only just started Little Heroes and so I am trying to grow it and I have big ideas and dreams for what I would like it to be, including mini sports days and fun interactive days, while still focusing on the fundamentals of balance, gross motor, focus and attention ect. I have also studied beginners swimming and water safety.

Please could I ask you to share my page should you know of anyone who might be interested, or my page might benefit, I would really appreciate it! 💙

Children, all children, need someone in their corner, someone who believes in them. Unfortunately, for children with special needs, the world can be a bit harder on them, and they need this more than most. They need to know that no matter what, there is someone, or some people, that believe that they are strong and brave, smart, wonderful, special, that they can overcome any obstacle and that they are loved ❤️
Our mission, at Little Heroes, is to make sure that every child that we come into contact feels this support from us.

My name is Claire Lister.
I was born with CHD and was never allowed to do phys ed or sports as a child, but as I grew up I started exercising and I realised how much it helped me and my health, in all areas. Since then I have had a big interest in exercise and physical activity for children with special needs as I believe that it makes a big difference, not only physically, but mentally, and in all other areas as well.

I have studied exercise and movement for children as well as basic swimming and water safety. I have worked with special needs children for the past 4 years . I have a big passion for exercise and sport, and believe it is something that is paramount for children with special needs.
I provide an environment that is safe, fun and happy, and I strive to create a space that can help children feel empowered, included and strong.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping your child realise their superhero potential.
