Our mission as Northwood Crusaders Hockey Club is to have a consistently competitive men’s and women’s team across every division in KZN hockey from Premier league all the way through to 4th division, whilst not forgetting the history of our club. Our desire is to achieve this goal whilst ensuring the laws and spirit of the sport are kept at the forefront of all our decisions and that every member

of our club always portrays and upholds the integrity of hockey both on and off the field. We encourage an all-inclusive family ethos and pride ourselves on creating an outdoor, relaxed and enjoyable culture for our local community to support, enjoy and feel a part of. We would like to become the hockey club of choice for hockey players of all ages and abilities in KZN. This starts within our juniors section, where players from 5 – 13 develop a passion for hockey, which we strive to grow and nurture once they join our seniors section. Our club will offer our stronger players the platform to perform consistently at the top level and use our club as a springboard to achieve higher representative honours as well as offering the more social players the perfect outlet to enjoy the best of the benefits and camaraderie that club sport has to offer. All practices are at the Northwood School astro. See below for practice days & times:
-Mondays: Men's 1st team squad (7-8.30pm) and Ladies' 1sts (7-8pm)
-Wednesdays: All men's teams, 3rds & 4ths (5.45-7.15pm), and 1st & 2nds (6.45-8.15pm)
-Thursdays: All ladies' teams, 3rds & 4ths (5.30-7pm) and 1st & 2nds (6.30-8pm)

Ladies matches are played on a Saturday afternoon, and men’s games on a Sunday, although you can enjoy watching our men’s first team over a cold beer on a Friday night too!

A huge shoutout to our incredible junior hockey coaches! 🏑🌟 Thank you for all the time, hard work, patience and dedication you have put into our little hockey stars this year. Your commitment, encouragement and passion make such a difference, and without you, these little stars wouldn’t be where they are today! 💙

A very special shoutout to Heather Dunlop & Maxine Logan for leading this wonderful team of coaches and for creating such a positive, welcoming and safe space for our kids to learn, grow and fall in love with hockey. We are so lucky to have such an amazing group behind our juniors! 🏑✨

JUNIOR PRIZE-GIVING 2026 ⭐️

Our little hockey stars had the sweetest end of year session! 🌟🏑 Dressed from head to toe in their favourite colours, they had so much fun celebrating the end of a fantastic year together. We finished off the session with a special prize giving, where all our upcoming stars were acknowledged for their hard work, effort and commitment throughout the year. It was so special to see how much each of them has grown, not only as hockey players but in confidence and as part of our junior hockey family 💙

We then brought all our families together for a lovely braai, with plenty of good food, laughs and time to mingle and celebrate the year together. A huge thank you to all our parents for your constant support, commitment and for always getting behind our little players, we truly appreciate everything you do to make junior hockey so special! 🏑🌟 Here’s to another year of watching these little stars grow, learn and shine! ✨

CRUSADERS MINI HOCKEY TOURNAMENT 🌟

We hosted our mini hockey tournament today for our U7s, U9s, U11s and U13s, and what a fantastic day it was! 🏑

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. Our little hockey stars continue to impress us with their enthusiasm, teamwork and growing skills. 💙

Thank you to all the parents, families and supporters who cheered from the sidelines and created such an incredible atmosphere.

Our junior Cru showed off their incredible skills, teamwork, and talent on the hockey field on Sunday. There were plenty of smiles, lots of fun, and memories made all around.

What a game for the Cru! 💙 Some fantastic hockey on display and a nail-biting finish that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

That wraps up our final game before the league break. A well-deserved rest, and then it’s back to work in a few weeks. We can’t wait to do it all again.
