ORCI has taken delivery of its shiny new safety RIB. Thank you Canoeing Ireland esp Ciaran McGuire and Moira Aston for processing the application, Thanks to Micheal Lenane at Lencraft for the bespoke build. Thank you to the Irish Sports Capital scheme.

A massive thank you to the Irish Surfski Community who contributed the deposit on the GoFundme. 🙌
Hopefully it will get good use in the coming races/ years. Remember it must have qualified drivers. You can regularly do power boat courses a the in Kinsale OEC , or the National Sailing and Powerboat School in Dun Laoghaire and many other locations nationwide.🤙

Le Canoë Kayak Club Brestois et l’Estran Ploudalmézeau sont heureux de vous présenter l’affiche du Championnat d’Europe Ocean Racing 2026, qui se déroulera à Brest du 26 au 30 août 2026.
Dans les prochains jours, nous publierons un document complet pour vous aider à organiser votre déplacement et votre hébergement.
Le village du championnat sera installé au Centre Nautique du Moulin Blanc à Brest, cœur logistique et convivial de l’événement.
Les zones de course s’étendront dans un périmètre d’environ 40 km autour du village, afin d’exploiter pleinement le potentiel du site.
En parallèle des épreuves officielles SS1 et SS2, les OC1 et OC2 pourront également participer dans la catégorie invitée.
Dans le cadre de notre partenariat avec la Ville de Brest, une course promotionnelle V6 sera également organisée.
Le site internet de la manifestation ouvrira à partir du 18 janvier pour les inscriptions.
L’équipe d’organisation est impatiente de vous accueillir pour ce grand rendez-vous européen.

The Canoë Kayak Club Brestois and Estran Ploudalmézeau are pleased to present the poster for the 2026 European Ocean Racing Championships, which will take place in Brest from August 26 to 30, 2026.
In the coming days, we will publish a complete document to help you plan your trip and accommodation.
The championship village will be set up at the Nautical Center of Moulin Blanc in Brest, the logistical and social hub of the event.
The race areas will extend within a radius of about 40 km around the village, in order to make full use of the site’s potential.
In addition to the official SS1 and SS2 events, OC1 and OC2 athletes will also be able to compete in the invitational category.
As part of our partnership with the City of Brest, a promotional V6 race will also be organized.
The event website will open for registrations starting January 18.
The organizing team looks forward to welcoming you to this major European gathering.

This week sees the Surfski world Championships taking place in Durban, South Africa. 🇿🇦

This year is shaping up to be the biggest and most competitive world champs ever with over 600 entrants from 31 countries descending on Durban the home of ocean Surfski racing.
Most of the team have arrived today to prepare and familiarise themselves with the 36km course.

Best of luck to the team who will be racing this weekend (race window is Fri-Sun)

The course was 18km open water from Bunmahon to Tramore beach. A very light tail wind and small swell running with the paddlers. Conditions reported at the finish to be very tough with a long 4km flat race to the beach after 14km along cliff with small waves to work.
Top 3 finishing within 1 minute.

We will have a two day weather window to ensure we have the best possible conditions and course options for race day. Welcome All to the Cahore Classic for 2025

Firstly to apologise to all for the late notice: - Unfortunately this year we have not been able to secure a safety boat to run the course from last year. However, we have been busy planning a back up course!



Course Details:



Start Location: Old Bawn Beach (Around the point from cahore)



Course Details: 2.5Km Lapped course approx. 300m From shore. This is a long flat section of beach which will still manage to collect any bumps out there, but also perfect for any beginners! (close location in place of safety boat – instead of safety boat we will have a number of skis along the course providing assistance)



Start time: 9.30 am (Early Start time here to beat the crowds expected due to hot weather forecast) and to facilitate Juniors



Entry Fee – Eur 20

Date: 13th july
