🥳 Celebration weekend @ LDYC 12th and 13th September 2026 – be there! 🤩
What a line-up, with something for everyone.
🏊‍♀️ On Saturday morning, ultra fit “Swimfinity Series” participants swim a demanding distance course around the island. Contact organiser Caron Whitfield for info 082 902 8382.
🇿🇦🫡Tradition continues with the annual “Blessing of the Waters” ceremony at 12h30, with flag work service from the 1st Eastleigh Sea Scouts led by Scout Group Leader Peter Sequeira.
💦Then it’s on to the water at 13h30 to respectfully sail past and salute the Flag Officers in the harbour. Formalities completed, all rules are off in the mega water-fight to follow!
🏆As the sun sets, join the annual prizegiving to applaud our sailing greats. Finger snacks provided and an open bar.
🌺Dress code is simple; absolutely no closed shoes, long pants or collared shirts! Floral, flowery, and flowy attire with slops or sandals and shorts is mandatory.

Many small acts of generosity can achieve something extraordinary.

As preparations for the 2026 SA Sailing Youth Nationals continue, we're once again asking our members to get behind this exciting event.

This time, we're appealing for donations.

Not everyone can volunteer their time. Not everyone can sponsor a major project.

But many of us can contribute something.

Whether it's building materials, equipment, products, services or a financial contribution, every donation brings us one step closer to hosting an outstanding championship.

Some of the items we're hoping to secure include:

Materials for a new viewing deck
Electrical and plumbing supplies for additional campsite services
Road-building materials and equipment
Fuel for safety boats and event operations
Food and catering supplies
Building materials, paint, roofing supplies and hardware
Professional services and skilled labour
Every donation, no matter its size, helps us move another step forward.
