Bringing the Night to a close was our Final Dance fused with drama.
telling the timeless story from the scacred land of Madurai comes the story of Meenakshi, a princess born with the destiny of a warrior and the spirit of a goddess.
Fearless and powerful, she rose to become a mighty queen, conquering kingdoms and protecting her people with courage and strength.
But her greatest journey was not one of conquest…
It was the journey towards her divine destiny.
At Mount Kailash, Meenakshi encountered Lord Shiva. In that sacred moment, her destiny was revealed. Shiva came to Madurai as Sundareswarar, and their union became the divine coming together of Shakti and Shiva.The Wedding a feast...The Union Eternal
We have no doubt that this landed at Shiva Thandava s showcase, an entire female cast of dancers led by Shiva...dedicated to all our Warrrior Princesses.
She is strength.
She is courage.
She is divine femininity.
She is Shakti.
Through Bharatanatyam, we bring this magnificent story to life — celebrating the warrior queen who discovered that her greatest power was not only in battle, but in embracing her divine nature.
Closing the night An ancient tradition of telling the divine stories through dance.
In 2019, along the back roads of Mylapore along Kaabaleeswaram temple, we stopped at a road side vendor and purchased from his goods, little simple items, overwhelmed by the support he insisted on gifting us something, he looked through his stuff and placed in our hands a gift, insisting we take it, after we refusing to take it without paying something, he pushed the money away and pointed to the temple dome, raised his hands and we understood it wasn't "just a gift"....there was a bigger story behind it...two handpainted Plaques of Saraswathy Devi and Meenakshi Devi roled together...naturally it leads us to her story, which waited till 2026 when who she needed were all ready to tell her story...and as we always tell our dancers..we.dont look for songs they find us when we are ready to touch it...
Salutations divine Mother Meenakshi thank you for this opportunity I hope we reached the goal and even if all didnt understand the language...I hope your story reached them through how we enacted the dance.
