forming & Choregraphing Dances in the Local Entertainment Scenes for 23 years, Their Dance School reached its 10th Year in March 2017. The intention of launching this School of Dance, was to become an inspiring force amongst individuals, to help develop self confidence and also to sustain to some extent the intrest in Indian Culture and Arts as a whole. Dance / Dancing is an Artistic Development tool that can be utilised in so many ways, promoting Individual Growth, Spiritual Growth, Social Skills and Social Cohesion. The Dance School Is Superbly Versatile, by Exploring and Experimenting with the various other Trends of Dance apart from the Pure Bharathanatayam, such as Trendy Modern, Western & Eastern dance, Semi Classical, Folk and Light Dance Drama. The Dance School has been a vital force in inspiring the intrest in Dance, within the Communitiy it is housed in, The Students tirelessly accommodate requests to perform at Events in and around Durban, attracting a special following for their unique presentation of Dance, They have embraced many Respected and High Profile Events dating back to the start of the Choreographers journeys and continue to make their Stunning appearances in current day Events. The Dance School has Proudly Under their own banner worked with Large scale Events choreography and Performance, and also networked with Local and International Entertainers. Some Proud Moments for Shiva Thandava Cosmic Temple of Dance and their Dance Directors include : Performing in the Presence of President Nelson Mandela on two Occasions, Performing in the Presence of Professor Abdul Kaam, Performing, Choreography and Collabrating with Dep of Arts & Culture, Choregraphing and Students selected to perform Children Cast Dance Drama performed in the Physical Presence of Bhagavan Shri Sathya Sai Baba, in Andra Pradesh India, Performing at the South African Indian Film & Television Awards, They have also featured In all Major Events hosted by Various Organisations, Annually. The Dance School does Host Bi Annual Dance Showcases, however the focus is more on Growing students through dance, by on going performances. Born out of the Banner " Excellence in Fine Arts" they have held high the Focus on Excellence from all aspects of the Dance presentation right down to Breathing Costumes and Synchronisation of Movement. The youngest performing at events are from 6yrs old. Shiva Thandava Cosmic Temple of Dance is proud of the Discipline and Dedication of all its Students, Dancing does have its Serious Moments but theres Always moments of Fun and Lots of Laughter, It serves as a Place to De-Stress, Relax, Getaway, Escape into Ones self, and Experience the Innate Beauty and Talent within

7th December 2025 - Pushpanjali Day is a day of gratitude, and it is tradition for us to include a dedication piece in honour of our Gurus. This year was especially meaningful, as our Gurus themselves took to the stage. In keeping with tradition, we also presented a special dedication to Bhagavan Shri Sathya Sai in honour of the centenary celebration — “Sai Vandanam – 100.”

This offering featured dancers from Senior Groups 6, 5, and 4, along with Junior Group 3 and the Hasta Group. A special note of appreciation goes to the Junior Group 3 and Senior Group 4 dancers, who remarkably completed this entire piece in a single lesson just prior to the event, with the dedicated support and guidance of NK Caitlin Chetty. Special note to Snr Class Girls who stayed late with Baby Baba to fit inhis piece and help him, great team work.Anextra sprinkle of this performance was baby baba, who didn't need much convincing to do the feature, special note to Kevin Dhora Photography for capturing the precious gestures that were spontaneous and very quick, and the capture on the feet was also incredible.

7th Dec 2025 : Late Post :Our final group to present a Pushpanjali was the Senior 7 Ladies team. While only two members of the original team performed, they were joined by dancers from Senior Group 5 & 6. We also had in the mix two of our Group 5 dancers both of whom had been on a long break this year but did not want to miss the opportunity to perform. The beauty of it all was that, with just a quick practice, they came together seamlessly and were completely stage-ready. It is always refreshing to watch the ladies perform—knowing that it takes so much more as the body ages and limitations naturally arise. Yet this year they truly shone, as they were accompanied by younger dancers and worked in perfect harmony with them.
