Technology is evolving fast, but real progress comes from how we use it to solve everyday business challenges.

For many businesses, managing facilities, maintenance and workplace operations still means juggling emails, spreadsheets and disconnected systems.

The problem isn't activity. It's visibility.

Through our partnership with Gravity Workplace, Exponant is helping businesses connect their people, places and processes, bringing greater visibility, accountability and efficiency to everyday operations.

Because better operations start with better visibility.

πŸŽ—οΈ We talk about workplace wellness. But do we make room for it?

Behind every job title, every deadline and every busy workday is a person with a life, a family and a health journey of their own.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're reminded that supporting one another goes beyond wearing pink or sharing an awareness message. πŸ’—

Sometimes, support looks like giving a colleague time for an important health appointment.

Sometimes, it's showing understanding when someone is going through a difficult time.

And sometimes, it's simply asking, β€œHow can I help?”

Because people should never have to choose between taking care of their health and feeling valued at work.

πŸ’¬ What does a truly supportive workplace look like to you?

Your CEO is calling. You recognise the voice. But is it really them? πŸ‘€πŸ“±

Sounds like something from a movie, right?

Unfortunately, it's becoming a very real cybersecurity threat.

In September 2026, Reuters reported on an Italian banking fraud involving executive impersonation and an AI-cloned voice. Approximately €95 million was transferred as part of the scam.

AI can now imitate familiar voices convincingly enough to deceive people.

And that's what makes this so concerning.

Sometimes cybercriminals don't need to hack a system. They just need someone to trust the wrong voice.

This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, remember:

πŸ” Verify unusual requests through a trusted contact method.

πŸ” Never share confidential information or system access based on a voice alone.

πŸ” When something feels suspicious, stop and check.

Here's our question for you:

πŸ’¬ If someone cloned your boss's voice, do you think you'd recognise the difference?

Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie. πŸ˜‰πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦

And maybe that's because some things about South Africa simply have to be experienced.

The languages. The cultures. The humour. The food. The places. The people. And all those little things that make us say, β€œOnly in South Africa.”

We may come from different stories, but together they make up one extraordinary country.

Today, we're celebrating everything that makes us uniquely Mzansi.

Happy Heritage Day, South Africa! πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦

If the people building AI are worried, should business leaders be worried too?

Maybe worried isn't the right word.

But we should certainly be paying attention.

AI is opening extraordinary possibilities for business, and there's good reason to be excited about what it can help us achieve.

But the faster we adopt it, the more important some very human questions become.

Who is accountable for how AI is used?
What information are we giving it access to?
Are we checking what it tells us?
And where should human judgement always remain part of the decision?

This isn't about fearing AI or slowing innovation.

It's about making sure responsibility moves as quickly as the technology does.

Because embracing AI and governing it responsibly shouldn't be competing ideas.

We need both.

If the people building AI are worried, should business leaders be listening?

AI presents enormous opportunity for business. But as the technology becomes more powerful, the conversation around responsibility and oversight needs to grow with it.

Leading AI organisations are themselves investing heavily in safety, governance and stronger evaluation of advanced systems.

For business leaders, that doesn't mean fearing AI.

It means asking better questions.

Who is accountable for its use? What information can it access? Are its outputs being checked? And where should human judgement always remain part of the decision?

We should absolutely explore what AI can make possible.

But innovation without oversight isn't the goal.

The opportunity is to move forward intelligently β€” with people, responsibility and good governance remaining firmly in the picture.

Spring is here. 🌱 And while we are clearing out, refreshing and making room for something new, perhaps our businesses deserve the same attention.

Over time, unnecessary processes, outdated systems and manual workarounds can quietly become part of everyday business.

Sometimes moving forward is not about adding more.

It is about simplifying what you already have and making it work better.

This spring, ask your business one simple question:

What could we do with less complexity and more room for progress?

At Exponant, we help businesses use technology to work smarter, simplify complexity and move forward.

Change is often seen as the risk. But in business, waiting too long can sometimes be the greater one.

Markets shift. Customer expectations evolve. Technology changes what is possible. And the ways of working that helped a business succeed yesterday may not be enough to take it forward tomorrow.

For Ashley Pillay, Chief Executive Officer at Exponant, leadership is not about changing simply for the sake of change. It is about recognising when the business needs to move, and having the confidence to act.

Because transformation does not always start with a major disruption. Sometimes, it starts with a simple question:

Is the way we work today still capable of taking us where we want to go tomorrow?

What could waiting too long cost your business?
