SSE Winter Cricket Festival
April-May 2024
Dear Parent
Your son/daughter is hereby invited to participate in the SSE-Winter Cricket Festival. This is a fantastic opportunity for players to develop their skills in a match situation. This will be the third year that we are hosting this event, and the previous two years were highly successful.
We hope to run the tournament over six weeks this year due to the tournament’s popularity. This is a fantastic opportunity for players who does not always get opportunities and miss out on selection for other tournaments. It also serves as preparation for players that are selected in various tournaments over the winter period.
As you are aware, we are playing different formats throughout the tournament, to give exposure to the players. The formats will be T10, T20, batting in pairs (players love this, as everyone will bat in these matches).
The two teams that are top of the log after the round robin matches will play in the final. Other teams will play out for third/fourth position etc.
The tournament rules will be sent out once entries have been finalized.
Parents and sponsors can buy a team for R500 if they wish to do so. This will allow them to
• Make their own kit if they wish to do so.
• Naming rights for the team.
• Pick the Team colours (shirt and cap), logo on shirts.
• Select own players. (open to all players)

Players that do not have a team will go into a pool and will be selected for teams from SSE.
Venues:
Matches to be played at various venues in Centurion, with the main venues being Irene Country Club and the Irene Oval.
Costs:
Each player must still enter individually.
Cost for the tournament is R1100 per player for 6 weeks.
Two players from one family R850 per player for 6 weeks.
