One of the ultimate tests of rally-raid is the marathon stage, where competitors must rely on their preparation, skill and resourcefulness without the support of their usual service crews.

At the inaugural 2025 South African Safari Rally, Stage 2 took competitors from Sun City into the heart of the South African bushveld, with approximately 623 km of adventure separating the start from the remote marathon camp.

Dust, demanding terrain, navigation and mechanical endurance all played their part.

It was a reminder that rally-raid isn't simply about being the fastest. It's about having what it takes to keep going.

And in 2027, a new chapter of the Safari Rally adventure awaits!
