Recently got my hands on the Loomis & Franklin Agulhas 11ft, 1–3oz spinning rod, and I have to say — for the price, this rod is seriously impressive.

It’s extremely light, responsive and direct, making it an absolute pleasure when targeting bluefish with lighter tackle.

I was throwing baits into specific areas during an early-morning session and managed to get into a blue. The fight on this rod was exactly what light tackle fishing should be about.

That classic bluefish “shuffle” during the fight is even more enjoyable when you're using a rod that lets you feel every movement.
