ROAD TO CHINA 🇨🇳 | THE DAYS THAT TEST YOU
Not every performance tells the story you wanted.
But every performance tells you something.
The 2nd National Trials took place this weekend, and unfortunately, Kganya did not produce the performance he had worked for.
That hurts.
But high performance is not built on perfect days.
It is built in the moments when preparation meets pressure, when things don’t go according to plan, and an athlete has to decide who he is going to be afterwards.
This weekend, Kganya showed something more important than a perfect routine — professional maturity.
No excuses.
No blame.
No hiding.
Just accountability, reflection and the willingness to go back to work.
At 16, learning how to handle disappointment is part of becoming an elite athlete. The objective is not simply to produce athletes who can win when everything goes right.
We are building athletes who can respond when everything goes wrong.
There is still work to do.
We will analyse the performance.
We will identify the gaps.
We will make the corrections.
And then we go again.
The dream hasn’t changed.
The standard hasn’t changed.
The work continues.
“For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.” — Proverbs 24:16
This is not the end of the journey.
This is another chapter in the making of an athlete.
