Maidens’ & Captains Bowled Over at SuperSport Park
CENTURION. Day One and day two of the fourth test match in the Test series between South Africa and England augurs the 7th instalment of the prestigious ‘Maidens’ Bowled Over ladies’ event and 2nd Captains Bowled Over men’s event at SuperSport Park on Friday, 22 and Saturday, 23 January 2016.
Hailed as a remarkable success by sponsors, guests and cricket management alike, these events are the first, and arguably the largest ladies’ and men’s events of its kind in the world supporting Test cricket. With an enviable position alongside the field, and under luxurious marquees, high-profile business women and men are invited to network and enjoy the cricket, while experiencing extravagant indulgences such as massages, sumptuous snacks and refreshments, and a programme packed with surprises and gifts.
“The styling and structure of the events pays homage to the ultimate format of the gentleman’s game, Test Cricket,” says co-host Ansie Fouché. “The traditional dress code for the event is elegant white, in keeping with the cricket whites worn during test matches.”
Highlights of the garden party concept included decadent hand and neck massages provided by Spa de la Veille therapists, refreshing beverages from SABMiller, ABI, Pernod Ricard, wine bars from Middelvlei Wines, Zorgvliet Wines and Louis 57 Wines and scrumptious food served by Open Food throughout the day. And, while the dazzling cricket ‘queens & kings’ watched the cricket on the field, their red carpet experience was made all the more exciting with an array of luxurious prizes and gifts for the guests. Each guest also received an exclusive BOWLED OVER magazine showcasing articles and adverts from all the sponsors involved. Throughout the 2 day’s the MC’s, Masechaba Ndlovu at the Maidens Bowled Over and Adam Hayes at the Captains Bowled Over ensured that everybody stayed informed and entertained.
The ‘Maidens’ event has received extensive media coverage over the past few years, through features on local and international channels such as Sky Sports, SAFM, 5FM, Citizen, Pretoria News & Huisgenoot.
