The Gauteng Stampede ODC Rally is back!

Fondly known as the Gauteng Stampede, this was our original first and anchor route. This time around it is done in reverse, with some very tricky and technical climbs, koppies and tracks added into the mix. Great fun.

🗺️ This route links most of the well-known Gauteng routes we know into one very elegantly designed flowing circular route.
🏁 The route is about 380 km.
💪 It is really challenging, and to ride it in 6–8 hours is tough.
📍 New start and finish venue: The Windpomp Lapa in Mnandi, just outside Centurion toward Lanseria.
🍻 Great parking for cars and trailers, plus the restaurant stays open late for drinks and chow afterwards.
🌄 Expect long fast sections, technical riding, river crossings, minimal tar liaison, and less sand than we would like.
⚫🔴 Red and Black route options again.
📱 Navigation options: GPX and Digital Roadbook on our RBR app.
🏆 Stages in this event also form part of our 2026 Championship, but there is nothing special required — just enter and come ride.

The RAMPAGE GAUTENT STAMPEDE 'R' is coming - Sat 30 May 2026!

🔥 Early announcement — entries open comming Monday 27 March. This will be the 2nd ODC for 2026.

This is the original Rampage Stampede endurance route, now reversed, with a new start and finish at The Windpomp Lapa in Mnandi, just outside Centurion toward Lanseria.

🍻 The venue is a big upgrade with great parking for cars and trailers, and the restaurant stays open until late, so drinks and chow afterwards are sorted.

🏁 The route is about 380 km and it is really tough — a proper 8–12 hour ride, even at a brisk pace.

🗺️ This was the original Rampage route and is effectively a combination of most of the best known Gauteng adventure biking routes, cleverly strung together into one giant technical endurance loop, now with many new sections and some tougher rocky climbs and koppies to cross.

🌄 It is also a fantastic scenic route with long fast sections, technical riding, less sand than we would like, still river crossings, and minimal tar liaison.

💪 The technicality of the route is higher, and the distance, endurance and navigation combined make this a really strong challenge.

⚫🔴 We will again offer Red and Black route options.

What a great start to the 2026 ODC calendar!!

With full registrations and 28 riders taking off after a few morning cancellations, the event delivered a proper 400 km one-day challenge digital roadbook navigation urban rally.

The route tested riders with challenging sand and rocky sections, leading to a few minor spills along the way, but plenty of smiles at the finish despite the fatigue.

The field was dominated by KTM, with just 1 COVE in the mix — a true orange rally event.

We also had riders coming from all over, including Burger from the Western Cape, and our youngest rider, 17 years old, taking it on aboard his 500 with dad in support.

One of the day’s serious moments involved Alexandre from , who had an accident with a local in a village and suffered a broken arm. We wish him a speedy recovery.

With perfect overcast weather and a full day of rally action, it was a fantastic event all round.

Big shoutout to Heine for riding support vehicle with me. Was great company as always.

🏁 ODC #1: LOSKOP RALLY — FULLY BOOKED & REGISTRATION IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED!

We are at capacity! 30 riders are locked in and ready to take on the first One Day Challenge of 2026 this Saturday.

It’s going to be a massive day in the saddle:
✅ The Challenge: 400 km of Gauteng’s best rally terrain.
✅ The Format: Dakar-style navigation using the RBR App.
✅ The Routes: Riders have chosen their poison — Red or Black routes, navigating via GPX or Interactive Digital Roadbook.

This is a non-competitive event focused on the skill of rally-raid navigation. It’s not about speed; it’s about accuracy and consistency.

With 120+ waypoints to validate, strict speed zones, and penalties for missed points or off-route antics, this is a true test of concentration and navigation management.

To our 30 entrants:
The route is set, the waypoints are live, and the dust is waiting.

Yesterday we did our last route confirmation recce — final route confirmation is DONE and locked in for both Black and Red route riders! (Check the photos from yesterday’s recce below 👇)

The route is looking unreal. We live in Gauteng — we don’t have high mountains or deep valleys — but what we DO have is open, accessible riding terrain that is perfect for a real rally.

The Black route has it all:
✅ Black Route: Just under 400 km (Technical & Intense)
🪨 Technical rocky climbs
🏜️ Plenty of sand sections
🛣️ Fast, open dirt roads between the special challenges

The Red route has it all, but shorter and less technical.
Perfect for riders new to Rampage events or just getting started.
✅ Red Route: ±350 km (Proper Rally Flow)
Less technical rock and downhills
Less sand
Great distance with enough technical little sections to still be a challenge for the day
