e with Pilates whilst working in Scotland, and after achieving my APPI Matwork Level One, Two and Three certification, I soon started my own Pilates business along-side my Physiotherapy work. I couldn’t believe the life changing impact it had on myself and my clients. I soon started taking an interest in Women’s Health and saw the impact Pilates made on my maternity clients no matter the stage they were in. It was during my own journey into motherhood, after the most beautiful/ challenging unmedicated birth to my sweet boy, that I understood how much Pilates can truly change your life. My Aim: To prepare, to empower and help mums rediscover their bodies, their strength and their passions!

Another beautifully overwhelming ride of birth…38+2, unmediated, no tearing, just a bit of gas and all the support from the best husband, midwives and gynae.

Over & out… 🤍

And just like that, it’s time for me to swap Pilates cues for baby cuddles and take a little maternity leave.

To every mum who has shown up, moved with me, trusted me with her pregnancy, postpartum body, and everything in between- thank you. It has been such a privilege to be part of your journey.

I’m going to miss our classes, our chats, the wobbly bits, the strong bits, and all the little moments in between. 🥹

For now, I’m pressing pause, to meet our new little girl, and soaking up these very special newborn days.

But… this isn’t goodbye. 👀

I’ll be back before you know it. 🤍

Until then-keep moving, keep breathing, and keep those pelvic floors behaving.

A little look back at the last few weeks 🤍

I genuinely can’t thank everyone who has come along to these classes enough. Watching this little community grow, getting to move with you, chat with you, laugh with you (and of course, Pilates with you!) has been such a special part of my pregnancy.

And now, somehow, it’s nearly time for me to take a little break 🥹🎀

This Sunday will be my last class before I take a few weeks off to welcome our baby girl.

I’ll be back afterwards, properly and permanently-just with a new little sidekick this time 🤍

If you’ve been thinking about coming along, there are a few spots left for Sunday’s class. I’d absolutely love to see you there before I swap Pilates for newborn cuddles!

“Hug the baby” 🤍

It’s a lovely cue… but one I NEVER use, as it’s not quite the full picture.

When you hear the phrase “hug the baby”, we’re cueing a gentle FULL deep-core connection (coordinated with the breath) rather than simply pulling your belly in. If performed correctly, it’s a great starting point.

The goal isn’t to hold that activation all day though. It’s to learn how to connect → coordinate → move → release. And, we need to make it functional 🏋️‍♀️

Because your deep core isn’t there just to be “switched on”- it’s a beautifully coordinated system of muscles and structures that work together to support breathing, pressure management, spinal and pelvic stability, and efficient movement.

Things I heard in Pilates this week… 😂🤰🏼

From “my butt is burning” to “wait… my other left” and the inevitable “I need to wee” - antenatal + postnatal Pilates comes with some lols.

But my favourite thing to hear is:

“I definitely needed this today.” 🤍

Because Pilates isn’t just about getting stronger. It’s about moving your body, reconnecting with yourself, making space to breathe, and leaving class feeling a little more like you again 🥹

34 weeks 🤰🏼✨ My core + glute gym session with a little more intention behind it…

At this stage, my focus is creating an environment to encourage baby into the optimal position, and maintaining as much strength and COMFORT as possible 🤍

That means:
✨ Opening and mobilising the front of the hips
✨ Moving through different hip positions to create pelvic space
✨ Deep core activation without excessive pressure or strain
✨ Building glute strength and stability to support my changing body
✨ Keeping movement strong, controlled and pregnancy-friendly

There’s so much focus on where baby is positioned, but birth preparation isn’t about forcing baby into one position. It’s also about giving your body the mobility, strength and space to support the position baby chooses.

At 34 weeks, the goal is strong, mobile and supported-not perfect. 🫶🏼
