Black Panther Figure Skating Club Our Club:
The Black Panthers Figure Skating Club is one of the largest and most successful figure skating club in South Africa.

Our Club:

The Black Panthers Figure Skating Club is one of the largest and most successful figure skating club in South Africa. The club is a member of the South African Figure Skating Association. Our Synchronized Team competed as the South African Novice Champions. We now have an introductory team as a first step toward joining the Western Province squad. The BPFSC has 10 committee members and an army of enthusiastic parents. Club Times: Saturdays 8:00 - 10:00
Group Lessons are run at 10 different levels and tests are conducted regularly. A grade badge rewards progress and skaters can progress at their own pace through the classes. Once the basics have been mastered, skaters can proceed to join the synchronized skating class. Skaters may join the South African Figure Skating Association (SAFSA) and receive coaching from professional coaches to further their skating careers. Venue: The Ice Station, Grandwest Entertainment World, Cape Town

Our History:

The past President, the late Fatima Khan, started the club in 1975 to further the interests of figure skating in the Western Cape and to provide the community, especially the youth with a creative outlet and interest. For the past 10 years, we have been sponsoring 12 skaters from the S.O.S. Village in Thornton by giving them free figure-skating lessons. The club has competed with success nationally and internationally. A number of solo skaters who began their skating careers with our club have won many solo dance and synchronized national titles. They have also competed in international competitions in Belgium, Croatia, Italy, London and France.
