How spectacular are these images from of the mother/son duo tacking the Freedom Challenge.

Beginning 10days ago in Pietermaritzburg, they have ridden in wet winter rain and wind, through the snows blanketing the mountains of the Eastern Cape.

Now making their way towards Cradock in a vast landscape.

Cold, isolated vistas in a beautiful country.

The trails head across South Africa towards the Weatern Cape finish in the Winelands town of Wellington after 2150km!

This is the

William Mills who races in the Basque Country while studying took on this challenge with his Mom while out on holiday.

We watch their progress from afar and wish them strength as they continue on.

Superb valley gravel route in & out of the farms, tar & gravel roads & a river or two.

Celebrate @ the top of the Galg!

Sip of wine back at Lords if you must!

A day out at the Western Cape Schools cycling league.

Event #1 @ Devonbosch. Special attention for the schools of Sweet Valley Primary School & SACS Highschool.

Boys had a ton of fun. Some results too! What a great way to experience the start of bicycle racing. Whether competitive or just out for the fun. There was something for everyone.

The over the weekend included a dedicated .

Taking the opportunity to give it a go, rigged up a gravel bike and got the chance to experience some good tactical racing at the finale of the race to win from .oosthuizen and having on hand to orchestrate the play.

The route in the Breede valley included some spectacular gravel portions and speeds were not far off a road event.

There is more scope for this landscape to host some nice gravel type events. Nice one !
