To All the Parents, Coaches & Team Managers of Melkbosstrand Wrestling Club
I would like to take a moment to say something from the heart.
Thank you!!!
Thank you to every parent who has played a part in helping us build Melkbosstrand Wrestling Club into what it is today.
As a coach, but also as a parent myself, I understand the sacrifices that happen behind the scenes. The early mornings, the late afternoons, the hours spent driving to and from training, tournaments and training camps. The planning, the expenses, the waiting, the encouragement — and sometimes putting your own needs aside so that your child can have an opportunity to grow.
Sometimes, we only see the medals, the victories and the celebrations. But you know what happens behind the scenes. You know how much commitment, time and sacrifice goes into every wrestler stepping onto that mat.
Your child might not fully understand or appreciate those sacrifices today. They might simply see it as “Mom or Dad taking me to wrestling.” But one day, when they are older, they will look back and realise just how much you did for them.
They will remember the tournaments you attended, the camps you supported, the countless kilometres you travelled, the money you invested, the encouragement you gave them when they wanted to give up, and most importantly, that you believed in them.
Those memories will stay with them for life.
To our coaches and team managers, thank you for giving your time, knowledge and energy to our wrestlers. Your contribution is equally valuable in building not only better athletes, but stronger, more disciplined and courageous young people.
Melkbosstrand Wrestling Club is more than just a wrestling club.
We are a family!!!
What we are building together is something special, and it would simply not be possible without every parent, coach, team manager and supporter standing behind our wrestlers.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you do.
Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed.
Keep supporting them. Keep encouraging them. Keep showing up.
Because one day, your child will look back and realise that behind every step they took on the wrestling mat, there was a parent who was standing beside them, believing in them.
