BRIEF HISTORY AND BACKGROUND
In 1977, Elsies River AFC (ERAFC) was founded and established in the local area after 3 clubs amalgamated. The main element on the club badge depicts 3 pillars, representing the 3 clubs, with one solid base and a top covering the pillars. The solid base and top reflects 3 becoming 1. Furthermore, the 3 main colours of the amalgamated clubs were used to form our club co
lours namely:
OLYMPICS - Red
GALLOWAYS - Yellow
RIVERTONS - Black
After the unification of all the various sporting codes in South Africa and after the abolishment of apartheid, Wanderers AFC joined our club. In the spirit of unification Elsies River AFC changed its name accordingly to ELSIES RIVER UNITED A.F.C. Our Motto “DUCERE” means To Lead. CLUB STRUCTURE AND ASSOCIATION
Elsies River United AFC’s (ERAFC) home base is situated on Salberau Park in Elsies River. At present, our club consist of 4 senior teams and 9 junior teams. Our club have our General Meetings every Monday evening at 19:00, except for the first Monday of the month. On the first Monday of the month we attend various other scheduled meetings associated with the club. Practices are on a Tuesday and a Thursday. For juniors it is from 17:30 and for the seniors from 19:00. Match days are through the week as scheduled by NSLFA and SAFA-CT which normally happens as follows:
Wednesdays - Under 19 and Over 35
Fridays - Over 35
Saturdays - Under 09 through to and upwards to the Premier Division,
This excludes our Under 19 - and Over 35 Divisions
The occasional Sunday- Mostly Senior Divisions

We play our soccer under the auspices of The Northern Suburbs Local Football Association (NSLFA) who operate under the terms and conditions as set out in Section 12 of the Non-Profit Organization Act no.71 of 1997. NSLFA are affiliated to The South African Football Association Cape Town (SAFA-CT). Our club has a proud history and we are up and running for over 35 years and will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary in 2017. Our vision through soccer is “ELSIES RIVER UNITED AFC A HOME FOR ALL.”
Through our vision, our club wants to educate our children socially through interactive sport, giving confidence them to progress in life. ERAFC elected official bearers hold their positions on voluntarily basis for a 2 year cycle period. In addition to our yearly subscription fees, our club generates its finances through various mechanisms which we present annually:

The Presentation we mainly aim to present it free of charge to our members and supporters.
