My fellow BNI South Africa members might have already seen this clip, but I had to share it here.
Over the past couple of weeks, I have been re-watching Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares.
This is a great show to watch if you want to see how poorly a business can be run and how implementing simple systems can turn a business around.
In the show, many elements of business consultancy, training, mentorship and even coaching are utilised to get these restaurants out of the red.
The sad reality is that most of the restaurants featured on this show closed their doors one to two years after their episodes aired. The reason? Quick fixes only work in the short term.
These restaurant owners fall back into old habits and bad practices because there was no long-term solution put in place to address organisational culture.
This is where business coaching comes into its own, facilitating the balance between quick fixes and reshaping organisational culture.
