Gareth continues his upward climb on the All Abilities Golf Tour (AAGT), delivering another strong performance at the Tshwane Disabled Open.

🥉 3rd – Medal Overall

These consistent results are a testament to Gareth’s hard work, dedication and growing confidence on the AAGT circuit. He is establishing himself as a strong competitor and continuing to make his mark among South Africa’s leading golfers with disabilities.

Our Club. Our Future. 💚

We’re pleased to share some important news with our KDM community.

Following recent discussions with the City of Cape Town, our lease has been amended, removing the short-term uncertainty and confirming that King David Mowbray Golf Club remains in place for at least another 8 years.

While we continue to engage constructively with the City regarding the long-term future of our precinct, this is an important step forward and gives our Club, our members and our community greater certainty for the years ahead.

🦅 Alphonse Comes Home

Sometimes, the best stories happen above the fairways. 🌿

After three days of incredibly strong winds, our team discovered a young Black Sparrow Hawk on the ground beneath the pine trees at KDM — injured, exhausted and unable to return to his nest.

What followed was a real team effort. From our staff who found and rescued him, to the veterinary team, the Kogelberg raptor programme and everyone who helped prepare him for his return, a chain of caring hands gave this young bird a second chance.

We named him Alphonse.

After being stabilised and cared for, Alphonse was eventually returned to the course and placed in a specially installed box in the same pine tree where his original nest had been. Then came the moment everyone had been hoping for — he launched himself into the surrounding trees.

And then came the best part. His parents joined him.

After everything he had been through, Alphonse was home. 🦅❤️

Stories like this remind us that King David Mowbray is more than a golf course.

We’re always looking for ways to make King David Mowbray Golf Club even more beautiful, and this month we’re celebrating the work of Rona Maske, whose care and dedication continue to make a real difference around the club.

Rona has been busy planting a beautiful new garden, adding fresh colour and life to our surroundings. 🌱🌸

It’s the kind of work that can easily go unnoticed, but these small details are what help make KDM feel like home.

A huge thank you to Rona for the care, pride and passion she puts into keeping our club looking its best. We see you, Rona — and we appreciate you! 💚
