We added one important detail to the boat this year: a plaque honoring Captain Joe Mazraani. Regardless of the current, the weather, the visibility, the conditions, or the mood, to Joe, it was always a “fine” time for a dive. Now we can remember him every time we step on and off the boat — not that we needed any help.

To anyone out there facing uncertainty in life, doubting themselves, or wondering whether something is worth the risk, hear him like we always do. “The current is fine.” Just dive in!

So - heute am Tag vor 50 Jahren, am 01.05.1976, bin ich an bzw in der Bever-Talsperre zum ersten Mal mit einer (damals noch etwas einfacheren 😜) Taucherausrüstung ins Wasser gestiegen. Und heute habe ich das mit meinem OYK-Buddy und Bruder Panos wieder gemacht! 👌🏼
Eigentlich hat sich nicht viel verändert... bis auf die Fülle meines Haupthaares und dessen silbrig-graue Verfärbung, die Breite meiner Schultern, das Gewicht des 300bar-Tauchgerätes und die vielen schönen Erinnerungen an >2.000 Tauchgänge/-stunden in fast allen Weltmeeren, Seen und Flüssen auf fünf Kontinenten und eine ganz stattliche Anzahl von Narben. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Nun denn: "Gut Luft" & "Klar zum Tauchen", auf die nächsten 50 Jahre! Dranbleiben und "keep kicking" 💪🏼🫡🦈🐬🐋🐟🐠🐡🦀🐙🪼🪸🫧
