Congratulations to our newest Junior Black Belt (Shodan), Yaqeen Maroof! 🥋

Yesterday, at his inauguration, we proudly presented him with his black belt rank after 10 years of dedication and hard work. Yaqeen began his karate journey at just 5 years old and, like many martial artists, faced moments where he wanted to quit. Through perseverance, discipline, and determination — together with the unwavering support of his parents — he achieved this important milestone.

His journey is a reminder that success comes to those who keep going, even through challenges. We wish Yaqeen all the best in his future endeavors and hope that he will continue to inspire the younger students coming through the ranks.

Congratulations to the organizers of the WUKF SA National and Afro Asia Championship held at Gqeberha Port Elizabeth 30 April - 3May 2026. A special congratulations to Gary Grapentin sensei and his team for hosting a fantastic and highly professional championship.

Well done to our chief referee Alta Venter sensei and judges Yusuf and Taqee Appleby, for officiating at this weekend’s event with professionalism and dedication.

A special mention to Taqee Appleby(2nd Dan Goju Ryu & 1st Dan Ryukyu Kobudo)on achieving 4th place in the Long Weapons Bo division — an excellent achievement while also serving as an official at the championship.
