Community ScubaLifeSA thoroughly enjoyed its THIRD dream liveaboard escape to Cocos Island: a lush, green uninhabited island resting 342 miles off Costa Rica's Pacific coast.
3rd time, good time :-) :-) :-)
Our dream became truth: one of our favourite dive spots, namely Alcyone, revealed a BIG SCHOOL OF SOCIALISING HAMMERHEAD SHARKS FOR 20 MINUTES NON-STOP @ A DEPTH OF 20 METRES!
During this ten-day trip we were once more able to enjoy world class unlimited diving for seven days.
Rocky pinnacles surrounding Cocos are beacons for big animals and big action.
Schooling hammerheads, countless white-tip sharks, mantas, tuna and even whale sharks call Cocos home.
Cocos Island National Park was designated a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1997.
We were also be shuttled ashore to hike through the jungles of Cocos and to swim in her many waterfalls.
