University of Cape Town Rowing Club The University of Cape Town Rowing Club (UCTRC) was founded in 1912 and has since grown to become one of the most competitive rowing clubs in South Africa.

The UCTRC was founded in 1912 as part of the South African College, which later was incorporated to form the University of Cape Town. Over its 103 year's the Club has grown tremendously to one of the largest university rowing clubs in the country; producing numerous international athletes, coaches, managers and officials. The UCTRC has always been competitive and having been a founding member of t

he first South African Universities Boat Race (between UCTRC and WITS Rowing Club the Club has a rich history within South African Rowing. At present the UCTRC is competing at the very top of university rowing and has not only won the USSA National Sprints Regatta 5 years in a row, but has also been awarded the Overall Universities Trophy the past 3 years. These results, mixed with its outstanding fleet of international standard boats, really puts the UCTRC at the top of South African university rowing.
