of Fairmount: An Alaskan Malamute / Mackenzie River Husky born in 2009. The fancy names hint at where they come from. Two rescues, one adoption, all without papers and bloodlines shrouded in mystery.

A happy New Year to you all!
May your trails be safe and joyful and may the weather be always fair.
We see you all on the mountains and will remember a dear friend who sadly deprives us of his companionship.
Very special thanks to all who joined us through 2025.
Jeandre Briedenhann Anahid Harrison Adam, Sean, Daniellé Hardenberg , Armin, Svetlana Doidge , and all the others who came along.
Very extra special thanks to Shannon Neill for sending me the link which got me Amka, and to Wellington SPCA for giving her to me. Christmas was in April.

We are okay to go on Boxing Day too, if someone is keen. (25°C)

Any day between the 4th and 11th if the long term forecast of cool temperatures in the low 20s holds.

With great sadness we received the news that our long time hiking companion and partner in so many adventures, Armin Harrison, left this World last Monday.
You will be sorely missed and fondly remembered forever.
Please give Gypsey, Qilaq and Arnaq a big hug.
They were waiting for you.
We meet again.
