This week we're shining the spotlight on Rope Skipping, a discipline that combines speed, coordination, rhythm, agility and incredible endurance!

πŸͺ’ RS requires no infrastructure All you need is a rope!
⚑ Speed matters. The world record for 30 second speed jumping stands at an incredible 119 jumps, equivalent to 238 jumps per minute!
πŸ† 12 competitive disciplines. Rope Skipping features four individual event disciplines and eight team event disciplines.
🌍 Growing across Africa. The IRJU now has 13 affiliated African countries, with five joining in the last five years.

This week we're shining the spotlight on Parkour, a dynamic discipline that combines strength, agility, speed and creativity to overcome obstacles.

Did you know that more than 50 clubs across South Africa now offer Parkour programmes?!

From its French roots to becoming an official FIG discipline in 2017, Parkour has grown rapidly both locally and internationally. South African athletes have also competed on the world stage, putting SA Parkour on the map.

Well done to the contestants from Kopanong Primary School in Limpopo under the leadership of teacher and rope skipping judge Jackson Kgoale.

Scholars competed in Basic Jump, Speed Run and Double Under and there was even a simple routine demo at school showing that rope skipping can be done in the classroom 😊
