Full Moon Hike

Please note that we no longer *organise Full Moon Hike events — however I have created this post for all the hikers with questions // those going up.

Every Lion's Head hike is FREE of charge and the hike itself will take the average person 1 hour. This hike offers spectacular views of our beautiful city below the full moon.

Invite your friends and family. This particular hike will not be suitable for our canine friends due to the number of attendees.

Night Hike Guide :

1. Plenty of water
2. Snacks/picnic
3. Hiking shoes
4. Flashlight/Headlamp
5. Warm jackets

Please keep our mountains clean, no littering!! Bring bags for your rubbish.

Please leave all valuables behind for safety reasons. Alcohol and ci******es are also not encouraged. 🚭

The hike starts from the car park, bottom of the gravel path to head up Lions Head.

The full moon will look bigger and brighter than usual during two of the 12 months of 2020, and one month will have two full moons instead of one. These are the best months for moon watching in the new year, along with the nicknames of all 13 full moons of 2020.

Hello Full Moon Hikers 🌝

As you all know we stopped creating events for the hikes due to certain rules and regulations as well as safety. I have had some enquiries about the hike tonight. I suggest those that would like to go up please stick together in groups. Bring torch/ flashlight, hiking shoes, warm jacket.

NO SMOKING 🚭 Smokers please, It is highly dangerous and illegal. If you catch someone smoking please report it. Respect nature and the animals.

Full Moon Hikers 🌝

We would like to inform you that we are no longer creating events on our page, however long live the hike!

Hikers please know the basics - you can refer to our old events for info. Always remain in groups. Flashlights on. Safety - do not hike alone.

❗️Wear the correct shoes - with grip. I recently climbed Lions Head and fell off a rock, breaking my collarbone. Make sure you know the emergency numbers.
