The last day always leaves you feeling a bit like a child trying to squeeze in just one more … before it’s time to go home.
Just one more flight.
One last hoorah.
One last giggle with friends...

So that's what we did. 😁

Up to the top — where Pete filmed each departure...
Then all the men (and the dame 😉) took to the skies.

Short but sweet.

And then, just like that... we're done.

Time to pack up. Say goodbye… and head home.

A few days of mountains, thermals, learning, laughter, good food and very good people.

Thank you, to the whole gang, for a wonderfully chilled few days — for the laughs, the stories, the learning, the samesyn and the memories.

Thank you P&S for the knowledge, the patience, the watchful eyes, the coaching, the cooking... and everything in between. ❤️

What a glorious day. ❤️🪂

The aim was simple — launch high, chase the thermals, and safely land back at Flyers Lodge after squeezing every last opportunity out of the sky.

Simple plan. Challenging ex*****on. Very well rewarded!

The team flew beautifully, putting all the feedback and learning of the last few days into practice.

And Prof, as you can tell, was quietly pleased with the progress. 😉

Honestly -
It’s days like this that make Porterville so special.
That keep you coming back for more...
And make it so tough to leave.

Because just like that...
In the blink of an eye — it's time!

After a full day in the air, some of the team had to start saying their goodbyes —

Okee dokee... Day 2 catch-up! 🪂

It was goooooood. 😁

We spent a little time parawaiting in the morning...
Yes — that's us, all lined up along the ridge, “waiting to see the wind coming.” 😂

Then a little briefing.
A little patience.
A lot of coffee.... ☕️
And then...
THE MAGIC BEGAN. ✨

Off we went! 🪂

Some REALLY nice distances — especially by his and hers. 😁

But all in all...
Much cleaner air.
Really great thermals.
And some very happy pilots.
WHOOP WHOOP! 🥳🪂

Once the troop was collected — thank you, Ground Control! — it was back on the tour bus for the debrief.
Because, as you all know, the flying doesn't stop just because we've landed. 😉

With celebrations all round, we “floated” back to the lodge for some well-earned R&R.

Good airtime.
A glorious sunset. ❤️
Good food.
Good company.

Yip… it’s that time of year!
Whoop Whoop BIG SKY COUNTRY here we come 🇿🇦🪂

Early morning Sunday we packed up the gear, the family, the friends — and hit the road.

With Craig at the helm and the rest of us ready for some serious playtime, we arrived at Heidedal Farm Sunday afternoon. Unpacked, settled in and did what any sensible group of pilots does... Relax. Explore. Eat. And talk flying. 😂

Then Monday arrived.

Beeeeautiful day!

After a little parawaiting, we headed out.
But it was VERY unpredictable air -—
A few bumps.
A few collapses.
But everyone landed safely
Except Pete. 😏
In typical Pete style ....while the rest of us had long decided we'd had quite enough excitement.... Pete cruised on at 2,700 m, for 2.5 hours - eventually making it all the way to Citrusdal!!

A proper first day in Big Sky Country - at least for one of us 😁

Day 1 — done. 🪂 Now let's see what today brings...
