BullyStop Mixed Martial Arts Academy was first started by Rico Hattingh, one of the first Mixed Martial Artists and Brazillian ju jitsu practitioners in Cape Town, in 2000 and the Main Focus and one of Rico's hearts desire was to install Self Confidence into his students. He believes that when a child has true Confidence that he/she will excel in all other areas of their lives be it School, work,

sports, relationships or play and that Mixed Martial Arts and Brazillian Ju Jitsu is the Perfect Vehicle to achieve just that. In today's life there is so much evil happening and it is absolutely crucial for Parents to enroll their children in such a programs. Bullying has became a huge problem nowadays and Rico believes that his program will definitely put a stop to that as it's normally the Bully who has the lack in Confidence or the one being bullied. The students are taught to use their skills wisely and with compassion rather than aggressive behavior or hurting someone. Its all about Self Control and having the Confidence in doing so. There's an old saying that goes "The best block is a block away" and when a child has the right self awareness and confidence then there is no need to be a Bully or to get Bullied.
