They account for nearly 60% of all deaths and 43% of the global disease burden.
Common chronic diseases include hypertension, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, tuberculosis, arthritis, asthma, high cholesterol, mental illness, epileptic seizures, obesity, and Alzheimer's disease.
