π π¨ *SUMMERVILLE FOOTBALL CLUB MEDIA STATEMENT*π¨
Summerville Football Club is a community-based football organisation established in 2024, committed to youth development, discipline, and respect.
The club currently serves approximately 130 young players and provides a structured platform focused on football development, teamwork and personal growth.
The club notes comments and statements circulating on social media following our recent fixture against Salt River Blackpool. In the interest of transparency and accountability, Summerville Football Club wishes to clarify the circumstances surrounding the matter.
It has come to the clubβs attention that a registered player submitted inaccurate and misleading documentation during the registration process. The club acknowledges that the documents were accepted at face value and that sufficient due diligence was not conducted at the time. The player was registered in 2 different teams,
This oversight constitutes an administrative failure on the part of the club, and we take full responsibility for this lapse.
As a result of this misrepresentation, Summerville Football Club was disqualified from participation in a prestigious youth development tournament, denying 19 eligible players the opportunity to compete.
This outcome has been deeply disappointing for the players, coaches, parents, and the wider club community; including our junior players who viewed the tournament as a source of motivation and inspiration.
While the club recognises the pressures young players face in pursuit of football opportunities, deliberate misrepresentation and unsportsmanlike conduct undermine the integrity of the game and cause harm to clubs, teammates, and development structures. Such conduct cannot be condoned.
In response, Summerville Football Club has formally suspended the player involved from all club activities and has disassociated itself from the individual with immediate effect. Summerville Football Club strongly condemns any form of misrepresentation, dishonesty, or conduct that undermines the integrity of the game.
Furthermore, the club has initiated an internal review of all player registrations to ensure full compliance with competition regulations and governing body requirements.
Furthermore, the club has initiated an internal review of all player registration. Measures are being put in place to strengthen verification processes and prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
Summerville Football Club remains committed to learning from this incident. Strengthened registration procedures and enhanced verification processes will be implemented going forward to prevent a recurrence.
Despite this setback, will continue to build a club founded on integrity, accountability, and development. We remain committed to providing our players with fair opportunities and upholding the values of the game.
The club remains resolute and will regroup, refocus, correct our processes and continue to serve its players and community with integrity, accountability and professionalism.
