To the little one Iā€™m still carrying.

We are down to the final few days of sharing this single space, and I find myself caught in the quietest, most bittersweet middle ground. For nine months, you have been entirely mine. I have known your rhythms before anyone elseā€”the midnight somersaults, the gentle hiccups, the way you stretch whenever I finally sit down to rest. We have walked through this entire journey as one, bound together in a way that I know I will miss the very moment it changes.

It is a strange and beautiful thing to stand on the edge of such a massive threshold. I am physically exhausted, my body is weary, and yet my heart wants to slow down time just enough to memorize exactly how it feels to keep you safe inside.

Very soon, this chapters ends. I will serve the eviction notice to my favorite roommate, and we will make the beautiful, terrifying leap from one heartbeat to two. I am ready to hand you over to the world, to watch others hold you, and to look directly into the eyes Iā€™ve been trying to imagine all this time. But today, Iā€™m just holding my belly a little closer, thanking you for this season, and taking in our final quiet moments together.

Any day now, sweet baby. I am ready when you are. šŸ¤āœØ
