✨️ A Spectacular Evening of Celebration & Remembrance ✨

Our Lansdowne Eagles Family gathered last Friday night for an unforgettable Awards Evening, celebrating the best and brightest of the 2025/2026 season🏆

It was truly special to share the room with our incredible players, dedicated coaches, and supportive families. The night was a perfect tribute to the hard work and spirit that defines our club. ⚾️
We shared a deeply moving minute of silence with the Roodt Family to honor the memory of our Lifetime Member and legend, Gavin Roodt.
We will carry his gentlemanly spirit with us as we look toward the future. 🕊️🕯️

We, as the family of Gavin Roodt, would like to extend our deepest and most sincere thanks to everyone who stood with us during this difficult time.

Firstly, we give thanks to Athlone Methodist Church for hosting such a dignified and meaningful service. Our heartfelt appreciation to Rev Leon Klein, whose message on gentleness was so beautifully spoken and perfectly captured who Gavin was. It brought great comfort to us all.

To our family and friends, your prayers, messages, visits, and quiet acts of kindness carried us more than words can express. We truly felt your love every step of the way.

Thank you for embracing Gavin so wholeheartedly, as a player, a supporter, and a life member. The way you honoured him reflects the deep respect and love you had for him. Baseball was a part of who he was, and you were a part of his extended family.

We also wish to thank the Lansdowne Old Boys and the wider community for your compassion and support.

Gavin was a gentleman, quiet, kind, and deeply loved. While his passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, we are comforted by the many lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
